Look at that rough water, captured by my friend Nancy Moore on a white water rafting trip! The guide admitted after they crashed through it with no lives lost that she misjudged the depth of that swirling eddy. The nature of being human is to run into rough waters; sometimes we make mistakes, sometimes we don’t, but life takes us there anyway. That’s the challenge of health; it’s the process of adapting to changing circumstances, learning from the world around us, and opening ourselves to the possibility of change. It’s not a static state but the ability to integrate, move through and heal from the challenges that each and every one of us inevitably face.
